The actress added that her mother is particularly excited about the prospect of her joining the show. “Since my childhood, my mother has been passionate about Islamic history and used to share stories with us. Selahaddin Eyyubi was her favorite character… So, when I informed her about auditioning for this series, she exclaimed, ‘Oh my God, I can’t believe it.’ It was like her dream coming true,” shared Ayesha Omer.

As per the producers’ statement, Humayun is slated to feature in select episodes of the upcoming season, choosing a character that is deemed “dynamic.” Humayun remarked, “Not only me, but other leading Pakistani actors may also join. Hamza Ali Abbasi, Adnan Siddiqui, Fawad Khan,” highlighting the potential ensemble.

He expressed confidence, saying, “The way [Diriliş] Ertugrul gained international acclaim in places like Egypt, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Pakistan, or even India, this series is poised for a similar global impact.”

Humayun and Ayesha have been part of the series since its inception. However, as Humayun recounted, the transformative idea to collaborate with Turkiye for a joint production originated during a visit to the sets of Diriliş Ertugrul, thanks to an insightful suggestion from Adnan Siddiqui. Adnan revealed, “One of the reasons to screen the series [in Pakistan] is for people to watch and spread word of mouth. A lot of channel owners are also in attendance; they must be watching and evaluating it. There will be a round-table conference with them, and we’ll see how things unfold for the release of the series in Pakistan.”

The series unfolds the extraordinary odyssey of Eyyubi (1138-1193), the inaugural sultan of Egypt and Syria and the progenitor of the Ayyubid dynasty. In a collaborative venture between Pakistan’s Ansari and Shah Films and Turkey’s Akli Films, the series was shot in Istanbul on an expansive 200-acre set, owned by co-producer Kashif Ansari. Originally crafted in Turkish, the show is poised for dubbing in Urdu, English, and Arabic, ensuring a global audience can immerse themselves in the epic narrative of Selahaddin Eyyubi.
