“Erkenci Kuş,” known as “Daydreamer” in English, was aired on Star TV from June 26, 2018, to August 6, 2019. This Turkish television series features Demet Özdemir and Can Yaman in the lead roles.

Synopsis

Sanem is a young woman who hasn’t been able to secure a stable job yet. Instead, she helps out at her father’s grocery store while nurturing her dream of becoming a renowned writer.

However, when her parents present her with an ultimatum—either find a respectable job or agree to an arranged marriage—Sanem hastily lands a position at the advertising agency where her sister works. This decision sets the stage for her adventures with the agency’s director, Can, igniting a series of events that ultimately lead to her falling in love with him.

Yet, amidst all the challenges and chaos, can she emerge with her heart unscathed?

Main Characters

Sanem Aydin

Demet Özdemir portrays the character of Sanem Aydın in the series. Sanem is an intern and scriptwriter at Fikri Harika. Her parents are of Nihat and Mevkibe Aydın and she has an older sister, Leyla.

Can Divit

Can Yaman plays the character of Can Divit. Can is the big boss at Fikri Harika, managing everything there. His parents are Aziz and Hüma and he has a younger brother, Emre.

Leyla Aydin

Öznur Serçeler portrays Leyla Aydın in the series. Leyla works as the finance assistant at the Fikri Harika agency. She is the older sister of Sanem and the daughter of Nihat and Mevkibe Aydın.

Emre Divit

Birand Tunca plays the role of Emre Divit. Emre is the Finance Manager at Fikri Harika. He is Can’s younger brother.

Sanem’s Sunny Days:

Sanem (Demet Ozdemir) is a naturally cheerful girl who works at a local grocery store. Every morning, she’s up bright and early to help her dad open the shop. She’s content with her life and, during her breaks, she daydreams about the book she wants to write. Even though no one else believes in her dream, she’s determined to finish that book someday.

Marriage Ultimatum:

Sanem’s blissful life takes a sudden twist. Her mother issues an ultimatum: either she secures a desk job like other young women or her parents will give the green light to Muzaffer (played by Cihan Ercan), a long-time admirer who’s been yearning to marry her.

Sanem steps into the Professional World

To dodge the prospect of an arranged marriage, Sanem sets out to find a job in an office. She eventually lands a position at the Fikri Harika, an advertising agency, where her sister Leyla also works. However, due to her lack of prior experience, Sanem’s role at the office mainly involves handling various odd jobs.

Can and Sanem meet

Now, let’s meet Can. Picture Sanem as she navigates her new workplace, often stumbling into amusing mishaps. Meanwhile, big changes are afoot at the company as the owner decides to retire. Taking the helm is the suave and enigmatic Can (played by Can Yaman).

Introducing Can

With his rugged good looks and a passion for photography that has him globetrotting for breathtaking shots, Can is the embodiment of a carefree, adventurous, and effortlessly cool spirit. He’s had enough of the bustling city life and decides to leave behind his family’s business to live life on his own terms.

Can’s Responsibility

When Can hears that his dad is unwell, he decides to run the company while his father gets better. He knows it won’t be easy to adapt to life in Istanbul, but he wants to make his dad happy and ensure things run smoothly until his father recovers.

Sibling Rivalry

Emre (played by Birand Tunca), the younger brother of Can, isn’t thrilled about the prospect of his brother becoming the director. Emre has poured his heart and soul into the company, especially during Can’s absence. Consequently, Emre believes he’s more deserving of the managerial role. When he discovers that their father favors Can for the position, it shatters him, driving him to concoct a scheme aimed at undermining his brother’s success.

Attraction and Espionage

When Can meets Sanem, he’s impressed by her down-to-earth personality. With a spy lurking in the company for a while, and Sanem being the new face, he feels like he can only trust her. But here’s the twist: Sanem starts helping Emre without realizing he has secret plans within the company.

“Erkenci Kus” 😻 It’s the best Turkish series I’ve ever watched. Wow, it’s just lovely. Every character did an amazing job. Their performances and acting were excellent. Can Yaman is, without a doubt, the best actor I’ve ever seen. He’s incredibly charismatic. His eyes, smile, looks, and acting… wow 💘, it truly melts my heart. Demet’s expressions are awesome, and Lyla and Emre are fantastic too. Jeyjey’s comedy, OMG, I laughed so much….. all I can say is… I’m completely obsessed with Can Yaman.
