Early Life and Education
Tuba Büyüküstün was born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey. She comes from a mixed heritage, her mother is Circassian and her father is Turkish.
She went to a private school where she developed an interest in acting at an early age and showed her talent in school plays and theater productions.
Later she attended the School of Fine Arts at Mimar Sinan University, Istanbul, where she studied costume and stage design. While studying at university she dabbled in modeling and appeared in several commercials.
Rise to Fame
Tuba made her debut on the small screen in 2003 as Nasrin in Sultan Makami. A year later she became a success with her performance as Zarife in Cemberimde Gul Oya (The Rose and The Thorn).
She has become a household name since her role as Filiz Tekiner in “Ihlamurlar Altında” (Under the Linden Trees). She has immense talent and enthralls her audiences with performance in every role she takes.
Personal Life
Tuba married Onur Saylak, a Turkish actor, on 28 July 2011. They got married in world’s most romantic city, Paris and a year later became parents to beautiful twin daughters, Maya and Toprak.
The couple decided to part ways and were divorced in 2017.

UNICEF
Tuba is not just an amazing actor but an equally wonderful and praiseworthy human being as well. She is an advocate for children’s health and development and has partnered with UNICEF since 2014. She has been nominated UNICEF’s goodwill ambassador
She helped rehabilitate Syrian refugees in Turkey. She believes it is our duty to provide equal opportunities and better living conditions for ALL children.
Earthquake Victims’ Rehabilitation
Even though it has been a few months, Tuba is still working tirelessly to help earthquake victims in Turkey. Recently she performed with Firat Celik at La Tour Eiffel Theater to raise funds for the victims. The event was attended by 500 people who generously made donations to her appeal to help millions of children affected by the earthquake.
